Caitlin Barkey photographed at sunrise on Davis Islands in Tampa, a location known for its calm waterfront views and rows of sailboats that line the harbor. That morning, everything felt calm, serene, and beautiful. The boats sat quietly behind her, their masts stretching into the sky, adding structure to the scene without pulling focus away from her.
We shot just after sunrise, with the sun hitting her directly. The light was still soft, giving her skin a natural glow. The water remained still, and the marina was quiet, which allowed the moment to feel uninterrupted and focused as we created.
Caitlin always carried a natural presence in front of the camera, composed but expressive, and it came through in every photograph. There was no need to over-direct. The way she held eye contact or gazed into the distance as she posed gave the images a sense of ease that worked perfectly with this backdrop.
Davis Islands has a distinct atmosphere, and it had been on my bucket list of locations to shoot for a while until I got the opportunity with one of my favorite models. The sailboats, the open water, and the early morning light all contributed to a setting that felt both structured and relaxed.
